Objective

The Gulf Center of Energy Security conducts research and analysis to provide valuable insights and recommendations on economic, political, and geopolitical security issues to decision-makers in the Gulf, Europe, and America. By engaging with policymakers and leaders in these regions, the center seeks to contribute to informed and strategic decision-making, ultimately promoting peace, security, and prosperity in the Gulf and beyond. The center’s work is designed to facilitate dialogue and collaboration among decision-makers, fostering a deeper understanding of the region’s challenges and opportunities and promoting cooperation for the collective benefit of all stakeholders.

Geopolitically, the center’s vision is to provide a comprehensive analysis of the political security challenges and opportunities in the Gulf, Iraq, Iran, and Turkey, with a particular emphasis on understanding the interrelationships between these countries in the context of political energy security. 

The Gulf Center of Energy and Security (GCES) focuses on analyzing the political, economic, and security dynamics of the Gulf region, with a specific emphasis on energy security. The center’s areas of interest include:

  1. The Gulf countries: Examining the political, economic, and security dynamics of countries bordering the Gulf, such as Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman, with a particular focus on energy-related issues and their impact on regional stability and security.
  2. The Levant: Exploring the geopolitical and security challenges in the region, including countries such as Iraq, Syria, Lebanon, Jordan, and Palestine, and their implications for energy security and the broader Gulf region, especially in terms of regional energy security.
  3. North Africa: Investigating the political and security landscape of North African countries, including Egypt and Libya, and their interactions with the Gulf region, particularly in areas of energy trade, security, and regional cooperation.
  4. Iran: Understanding Iran’s political and security dynamics and its influence on the Gulf region, with a specific focus on energy-related security issues.
  5. Yemen: Examining Yemen’s complex political and security challenges, including their impact on energy security and the country’s prominence as a player in geopolitics and security.
